基本情報

Information At the end of the Warring States period, Portugese ships arrived in Japan, and the trade with the West started. The Western ships first arrived in Hirado, but due to the discord with the Matsuuras, the Hirado lord of the manor, the Portugese looked for alternative ports, and ended up finding Yokoseura in Omura.
Omura Sumitada, the then lord of the manor of Omura, welcomed the Portugese, and also allowed Christian missionary activities. The Portugese made Omura as their regular port, and started the trade there.
